First eaglet spotted on UAS Eagle Cam

June 5, 2026

The first eaglet (Zip) was spotted out of its shell last Thursday morning, May 28, and later that day, it was first seen feeding. The second eaglet (Loc) hatched Friday afternoon May 29. Keep an eye on the latest action via the UAS Eagle Cam!

From the Eagle Journal (beneath the Eagle Cam on the UAS Campus Views page):

      • May 28, 2026: The first  by Abi Spofford of the Chancellor's Office at 6:51am.
      • May 28, 2026: . Remaining egg seen in video with tossed egg from this eaglet just out of frame. The second egg should hatch any time now, as they were laid two days apart.
      • May 29, 2026:  during a feeding at 3:55pm. In the frame is what appears to be another chicken leg, previous hatched egg, and our favorite ZipLoc bag.
      • 5/30/26: Chicken breakfast at 8:15am. . At only a day it’s becoming difficult to tell the two apart other than dominance. Meal time appears to be several times a day at this point.

Watch the UAS Eagle Cam:

An adult eagle feeds a small, white, fluffy chick from its beak, with an egg nearby.
The first eaglet hatched on May 28 and soon began feeding, pecking at food in its parent's beak.
