Free upcoming virtual training from Ï㽶ÊÓƵDisability Services

From Fall 2024 through Spring 2025, Disability Services (DS) offices across the state will continue to offer free virtual training sessions to Ï㽶ÊÓƵstaff and faculty on a range of essential topics. Each 'All Access' session will include ASL interpreters and live transcription services.
Busy schedule? If the timing doesn’t work for you, don’t worry -- unless otherwise noted, all Ï㽶ÊÓƵDS 'All Access' presentations will be recorded. Please register to receive a link to the recorded session. Future 'All Access 2024-2025' sessions will be posted in the coming weeks.

Session Summary: Students registered with Disability Services represent 25% of all course enrollments at UA. Are you prepared to meet their needs? 'Ï㽶ÊÓƵDisability Services 101' offers practical information and accessible strategies to help boost your confidence when supporting students with disabilities. In this session, DS staff will cover:
- How students become eligible for accommodations in higher education
- The various types of support provided by DS
- Faculty and student roles and responsibilities
- Answers to common questions about accommodations
- A detailed exploration of 'flexibility,' including potential 'fundamental alterations' that may be required within your course or program.
Anne and Amber will lead an in-depth discussion on these topics, and most importantly, ensure that you are well-connected with a Ï㽶ÊÓƵDS professional for ongoing support.
