Free upcoming virtual training from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµDisability Services

From Fall 2024 through Spring 2025, Disability Services (DS) offices across the state will continue to offer free virtual training sessions to Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµstaff and faculty on a range of essential topics. Each 'All Access' session will include ASL interpreters and live transcription services.
Busy schedule? If the timing doesn’t work for you, don’t worry -- unless otherwise noted, all Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµDS 'All Access' presentations will be recorded. Please register to receive a link to the recorded session. Future 'All Access 2024-2025' sessions will be posted in the coming weeks.

Session Summary: Students registered with Disability Services represent 25% of all course enrollments at UA. Are you prepared to meet their needs? 'Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµDisability Services 101' offers practical information and accessible strategies to help boost your confidence when supporting students with disabilities. In this session, DS staff will cover:
- How students become eligible for accommodations in higher education
- The various types of support provided by DS
- Faculty and student roles and responsibilities
- Answers to common questions about accommodations
- A detailed exploration of 'flexibility,' including potential 'fundamental alterations' that may be required within your course or program.
Anne and Amber will lead an in-depth discussion on these topics, and most importantly, ensure that you are well-connected with a Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµDS professional for ongoing support.
