- 	  Did you know UAF just released a feature documentary celebrating 100 years of Nanooks hockey? September 30, 2025 A new feature-length documentary from the University of Alaska Fairbanks marks 100 years of Nanooks hockey, revisiting the team's rivalries, traditions, and the broader role the sport has played in Alaska communities. 
 
- 	  Did you know T3 Alaska is bringing maritime career pathways to 10 coastal communities this year? September 10, 2025 The University of Alaska Fairbanks' T3 Alaska program is launching Maritime STEAMfests. These hands-on events connect high school students to careers at sea and in shipyards. The first events took place in Sitka, Wrangell, Seward, and Valdez this spring, with more scheduled this fall in Ketchikan, Kodiak, Juneau, Hoonah, Kake, and Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµr.

- 	  Did you know you can now support all three Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµuniversities with an Alaska license plate? June 27, 2025 The UAS design, released this June, was created by Tlingit and Athabascan artist Crystal Worl. It features a whale fluke dipping into Southeast waters, framed by the familiar coastal mountains. 
 
- 	  June 10, 2025 Up until now, locally milled lumber in Alaska couldn't be used in residential building projects. That wasn't because of quality, but because building codes typically require a grade stamp from a national agency, something too expensive and inaccessible for many small operators in Alaska.
