Description: The Woo, in collaboration with Subcultura Curation, presents Viva La Raza: Reflections on San Diego’s Chican@ Movement, a multigenerational exhibition experience in Barrio Logan, one of San Diego’s recognized cultural districts.
Opening April 11, 2026, the exhibition is inspired by the cultural pride, resistance, and community movement surrounding Chicano Park Day (April 25), and will be on view throughout that weekend.
The exhibition brings together visual art, archival materials, photography, and storytelling that reflect the history and creative spirit of San Diego’s Chican@ community. Featured elements include Aztlan Archives as a central historical anchor, a focus on the Queer Chicanx experience in collaboration with Lambda Archives of San Diego, a community-led photography exhibition "Aquí Seguimos: Before It Changes" by Manuel Ceniceros and All For Logan, and a solo presentation of new works by BRISK ONE.
Together, these elements highlight both the legacy and ongoing evolution of the Chican@ movement in San Diego.
This exhibition is free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to experience the work at their own pace and engage with the stories, histories, and cultural contributions that continue to shape the community. -

Description: Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Fences is a cornerstone of August Wilson’s The American Century Cycle, and a powerful exploration of fatherhood, identity, and legacy. Set in 1957, the play follows Troy Maxson, a former Negro League baseball star, now a sanitation worker. Grappling with the burden of his broken dreams, Troy struggles to assert control over his family and his future. Director and Old Globe favorite Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (Deceived, Trouble in Mind), helms this deeply human portrait of a family’s love and resilience. August Wilson’s Fences is a must-see event that resonates as deeply today as it did when it first took the stage.

Where: North Coast Repertory Theatre, 987-D Lomas Santa Fe Drive, Solana Beach
Cost: $12 - $25
Age limit: All ages
Description: The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep presents a musical show with drama and comedy, the hit musical by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX the Musical Teen Edition, as its next student production.
SIX is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII, presented in the form of a singing competition, within a pop concert. In the show, the wives take turns telling their stories to determine who suffered the most from their shared husband, but ultimately seek to reclaim their individual identities and rewrite their stories.
SIX is based on real historical events and figures, taking artistic liberties in its portrayal of these characters. The musical incorporates elements of historical fact, such as the marriages, divorces, and executions of the six queens, but brings them into a modern light, with tongue-in-cheek comedy and toe-tapping (to say the least) musical numbers.
